Geçmiş nesillerdeki Mindstorms setlerinin 6-7 yıllık zaman dilimleri içerisinde yenilendiği ve Mindstorms EV3 (31313) seti de çıkalı 7 yıl olduğu için muhtemelen bu yıl ya da en geç önümüzdeki yıl, Powered Up platformu ile uyumlu bir Mindstorms seti çıkmasını bekliyorduk.

Tahminlerimizde de yanılmadık ve LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor (51515) bugün duyuruldu.

 

Teknik detaylara geçmeden önce biraz ilk gözlemlerimizden söz edelim; zira geçtiğimiz haftalarda katılmış olduğumuz RLFM Günleri’nde, doğrudan tasarımcısı Dan Meehan ve ürün yöneticisi Lena Dixen’ın sunumu ile inşa edebileceğiniz 5 farklı robotun ne şekilde çalıştığını birinci elden görme şansı elde ettik. (Daha setin çıkmasına nispeten uzun bir süre olduğu için ne yazık ki sizlerle paylaşabileceğimiz bir video yer almıyor.)

Öncelikle, setin temellerinin LEGO Education SPIKE Prime setine dayandığını ve SPIKE Prime’de yer alan bir çok Powered Up bileşeninin yeni renkleri ile burada yer aldığını söyleyebiliriz. Genel olarak bir önceki LEGO Mindstorms setinden daha farklı hissettiriyor ve daha geniş bir kitleye hitap edebilmesi olası.

En önemli konulardan biri ise, geçtiğimiz yedi yılda değişen teknolojiler nedeniyle geriye dönük olarak, önceki nesil LEGO Mindstorms bileşenleri ile uyumlu değil.

Setin içerisindeki parça sayısı yeterli düzeyde ve birbirinden tümüyle farklı 5 robot inşa edebiliyor olmanız da setin esnekliğinin önemli bir göstergesi. Robotların bir çoğu sadece robot yapacak kadar çok parça değil, aynı zamanda etkileşime geçebileceği ya da oynamak için kullandığı parçalar da içeriyor.

Robotlar şu görevleri gerçekleştirebiliyor, biz de bu görevlerin bazılarını görebildik:

• Blast: Bu robot, ok atabilen bir robot, isterseniz siz yönlendiriyorsunuz, isterseniz de sensörleri ile hareket sezinlediğinde kendisi ok atabiliyor.
• Charlie: Bu daha şirin bir robot, dans edebiliyor ve bateri çalabiliyor. Baterisini de yine setten çıkan parçalarla inşa edebiliyorsunuz. Gerçekten hızlı bir biçimde çalabilse de ses çıkaramıyor tabii.
• Tricky: Bu hareket odaklı bir robot. Topla bovling ya da basketbol gibi oyunlar oynatabiliyorsunuz. Tabii hedefleme konusunda biraz daha iyileşmeye ihtiyacı olduğunu gördük.
• Gelo: Dört ayaklı ve Boston Dynamics’in meşhur dört ayaklı robotunu andırıyor. Setin içerisinde yer alan açısal motorlar sayesinde hareket kabiliyeti oldukça yüksek.
• M.V.P. (Modular Vehicle Platform – Modüler Araç Platformu): Bu daha esnek bir robot. Üzerine farklı eklentiler takarak, vinç ya da LEGO parçası toplayıcı olarak farklı şekillerde çalıştırabiliyorsunuz. Bu robotun set piyasaya çıkmadan önce biraz daha ince programlamaya ihtiyacı olduğunu belirttiler.

 

Tümüyle yeni teknolojilerle donatılan dördüncü nesil LEGO Mindstorms’un öne çıkan özellikleri ise şu şekilde:

• Tümüyle farklı karakterlere sahip 5 robottan birini inşa edip kodlayabiliyorsunuz.
• 50’den fazla farklı etkinlik içermesinin yanı sıra Scratch dili ile görsel bir şekilde ya da Python dili ile daha kapsamlı bir şekilde robotları kodlayabiliyorsunuz.
• Mindstorms uygulaması Windows 10, macOS, iOS ve Android işletim sistemlerinde çalışabiliyor.
• Bluetooth ile telefon üzerinden ya da PlayStation oyun kolu gibi Bluetooth uyumlu oyun kollarını bağlayarak kontrol edebiliyorsunuz.
• Set, Powered Up bileşenleri ile uyumlu ve sette de yeni Powered Up bileşenleri yer alıyor. (Bu bileşenleri aslında daha önce LEGO Education SPIKE Prime setinde görmüştük; fakat bu setle daha geniş bir kitleye açılıyor.)
